For a very long time....I've been waiting to write on this.Felt like some voice within me urged me to say something...atleast something.

"Agree or disagree: krishna kare to raas leela, ham kare to character dheela?
if i have had 3 love affair, does it mean i am loose character?
if so , why does people worship to lord krishana?"

Taken from yahoo.....someone's query.

Hope you got the idea what this piece wants to convey...am I right??

Yes...you got it...because most of us use that word 'Raas Leela' to convey that which is being tried to convey here....without knowing or I should say IGNORING the true meaning of this word.

It's not about the query I am talking about...it's 'THE WAY' I want to refer to.The way the idea is portrayed....by someone who wanted to ask something(in ignorance) ....but ended up insulting his own deity...'KRISHNA'.

Sad...but true.

It's not just this....I have been coming across this word many times since I was a child....sometimes while grasping the mythological teachings...wherein,among other things, I was also taught what raas leela was about...and at other times....also noticed some ignorant people playing with this word.

At first, hearing this,I used to get confused...did'nt know what to say and what to collect from this...But gradually, my focus shifted from that 'ham' category people(which ignorantly said that)..to 'HIM'.Everything HE did(and does) had a purpose behind it.What was HIS purpose behind the 'Raas-Leela'.What did HE intend to convey...Have we understood that which HE wanted to teach us.?? If anyone of us says the above thing 'just for fun'...then probably we have not.First let's remind ourselves what the word 'RaasLeela' which is associated with HIM means....

The sages who had done rigorous tapasya in their previous births and had been waiting to merge with HIM, re-incarnated as Gopis to experience that 'Eternal Bliss'...when the soul merges with the INFINITE.....

Krishna,The Supreme, worships Radha-HIS highest devotion. And the zenith of their attachment was experienced through 'Raas-Leela' - The circular dance of Love...in which all the souls felt HIS rhythm. When HE was beside them, they were in a different world.....wanted nothing more in life.

Today 'Raas Leela' is often considered as an ordinary love-making,based on physical attraction and Krishna, sometimes, is portrayed as a young rash lover who flirts with the gopis...........?????
What will you do if somebody abuses your father, mother, brother, sister, spouse or anyone close to you....??

HE married several princesses...and so some foolish ones drag HIM down to their own level and quote HIS example to justify their physical attractions...and often say ignorantly "HE did...why can't we?".....without knowing the meaning of true love, which HE wanted to convey through HIS actions..There are very few who understand this relationship and the message it contains.

Swami Vivekananda explains, "Raas Leela is an expression of divine leela and it takes place in the heart of every individual...when the soul connects to HIM.This has nothing to do with the physical body."

I want to narrate a story I heard long time back...when I was a child....and will always be close to me.....

Once,on one of his foreign tours, some female followers of Swami Vivekananda asked him to explain the concept of "Krishna and the Gopis' and the type of bond they had between them.
The Swami didn't say anything...walked a few yards and stood there....silent.

The followers approached him and asked the same question again.

Swamiji did the same again.

The followers got confused....approached him again and asked why he did that.

This time he asked them the cause of their following him...to which they replied that they wanted to know something....had a query which he could solve...and that they respected him and looked up to him in admiration.

And then he smiled and said,"Exactly!!...This was the bond between them too."

Those people knew nothing about this concept and so they, out of curiosity, asked Swami Vivekananda to explain. This was fine.

But when we Indians, ignorantly, misuse the concept,it is really shameful.and among the Indians too, most of them who commit this mistake are Hindus....(strange !!! and they think they know everything about their religion or culture).

Be it the Indian news-channels,the Indian newspapers, the Indian magazines or any other media....any 'flirtatious' act by someone...and the term given is--

RAAS LEELA......??

On this,I would like to say--

"Want to make fun of someone...well....go for it if you want...but not at the cost of your own DEITY...!!!

So next time you see a guy surrounded by many girls...and if you intend to make fun of them.....think before calling it 'Raas Leela' or 'Kanha with his Gopis'!!

Yes,we must think....if not for preventing ourselves from getting into the fun-making act...but also for the integrity of 'THE ONE' who came to this planet to convey something different to us.......

Just a Reminder......
A Message.....from a Messenger!!
